Notes & Reviews:

This set of essential Durufle includes the complete works written for liturgical use, for choir and organ. The Leeds Cathedral Choir and Italian organist Adriano Falcioni give beautiful performances of Durufle's popular Requiem in the setting for choir and organ, and the complete choral works, as well as the complete works for organ solo. The booklet contains liner notes on the music, sung texts and translation, as well as the specifications of the organ.

American Record Guide, March/April 2014
Maurice DuruflT (1902-86) is one of the most highly respected French organist-composers of the 20th Century. The Requiem, Opus 9, is widely regarded as DuruflT's greatest masterpiece. It exists in three versions. The present recording gives the scoring for strings, harp, trumpets, and organ. The solo organ works are played by Adriano Falcioni, principal organist of the Metropolitan Cathedral of St Lawrence in Perugia and much in demand as a recitalist. His performances are poised and seemingly effortless, projecting the remarkable delicacy of DuruflT's often intricate writing. The Leeds organ is attractively recorded here with good presence. Climaxes in the organ works are powerful. In this respect, I believe Leech's performance has the edge. The 1928 Frobenius organ at Aarhus Cathedral, like the Klais at Leeds, has that combination of warmth and clarity that suits DuruflT's solo organ works. Krogsoe's performances have a stylish poise and sensitivity comparable with Falcioni's.

Gramophone Magazine, February 2014
They may lack the richness and sophisticated blend of other choirs but with their bright tone and honest, natural singing deliver very accomplished and satisfying performances...Leeds Cathedral's warm acoustic considerably enhances the sound of the choir, orchestra and organ, and it's faithfully captured by the excellent recording.
