Notes & Reviews:

These two recordings of Foulds were released in 2004 and 2006 to great critical acclaim. The Finnish conductor Sakari Oramo was Music Director of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra between 1998 and 2008 where he championed rare music including the works of John Foulds. On July 12, 2013 - the first night of the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in London - he became the Chief Conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

The Observer, 11th August 2013
The nine works...display the full range of Foulds's talents, from the exotic and the ecstatic to the wild and poetic. Sometimes like late Strauss, at others more early Messiaen, in the end he is purely himself.

BBC Music Magazine, June 2014
A missing link between Edwardian opulence and the avant-garde, Foulds wrote rampaging, adventurous, iridescent music, splendidly championed by Oramo and the CBSO.
