Notes & Reviews:
BBC Music Magazine, Christmas Issue 2013
The brace of laments for Stellidaura...attest to the seductive abilities of de Caro and fit Jennifer Rivera's honed, toned mezzo-soprano voice like a glove...De Marchi has created a vibrant reimagining of this private, politically loaded entertainment, and his instrumentalists lavish the score with more detail than perhaps it deserves.
Gramophone Magazine, September 2013
The style of the music mixes Cavallian declamatory writing and dance-songs with Scarlatti-like short A-B-A arias...De Marchi extracts richness, variety and intimacy from the minimally notated score...[by the end] the strong and affecting singing of Jennifer Rivera has carried the day.
The Guardian, 4th July 2013
The performance is strong. Smoky-toned Jennifer Rivera is suitably suggestive in Stellidaura's meditations on out-of-control desire...and there's virtuoso playing from the Academia Montis Regalis...Not quite a masterpiece, but great fun.
