Ensemble Composers

Notes & Reviews:

Winners of the prestigious ARD Competition 2012, the Armida Quartet presents an unusual debut CD featuring three composers with roots in Hungary, all of whom were very interested in traditional folk music. The ensemble has received musical inspiration from Natalia Prischepenko as well as Alfred Brendel, Ferenc Rados, Tabea Zimmermann, Eberhard Feltz, Walter Levin, Martin Spangenberg, and Heime Muller. In addition, the musicians have taken part in master classes taught by the Alban Berg as well as the Guarneri & Arditti Quartets.

Notes & Reviews:

Recording information: Berlin, Haus des Rundfunks, Saal III (04/2013).
