- Florian Uhlig (Piano)
Notes & Reviews:
This is the sixth volume of the complete piano works of Schumann and features one of his best-known works, Album for the Young. This series is the only of its kind and includes numerous world premiere recordings.
American Record Guide, March/April 2014
This is the sixth volume in Uhlig's complete survey of Schumann's piano music and the first one to have come my way. Uhlig is a little more serious than my benchmark performance from Alessandra Ammara (S/O 2011). If you have been collecting Uhlig's Schumann. This is a most worthy entry in his series.
BBC Music Magazine, May 2014
Uhlig's playing is by turns raptly beautiful and full of energy...He shows us just how Schumann's affection for his children was reflected in empathetic creations that cede no musical instpiration to the relative simplicity of the technique required to play them...This recording is not only instructive, it's a treasure trove of gorgeous music.
Recording information: Menuhin Hall, Yehudi Menuhin School, Stoke d'Abernon, C (04/16/2013-04/18/2013).
