Notes & Reviews:

For the fourth and penultimate volume of his Faure series, Eric Le Sage is joined by Alexandre Tharaud, Emmanuel Pahud and Francois Salque to record these pieces for four hands. A recipient of numerous prizes both in France and abroad, this complete Faure series is already asserting itself as a reference for the interpretation of his chamber music with piano.

American Record Guide, May/June 2014
I hear the piano duet suite Dolly on a very regular basis. Captivating attention to detail and beautiful voicing permeate the entire work, as in their performance of Masques et Bergamasques. The most surprising work here is the Souvenirs de Bayreuth, subtitled 'Fantaisie en forme de quadrille sur themes favoris de l'Anneau du Nibelung de R. Wagner'. FaurT completed the Fantasy as a Conservatory competition piece. The Morceau de Concours was written as a sight-reading test and remained unpublished until 1977. Beautiful sound and ensemble is there in all the performances, and continues in the Piano Trio as well. If anyone can be seen as a bridge between romantic and impressionist music in France, it would be FaurT.
