Notes & Reviews:

As an advocate of new music, percussionist Zeca Lacerda has premiered works by Jeff Herriott, Christian Wolff, Bob Becker and Stuart Saunders Smith. He has also performed with the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra and the Petrobrás Symphony Orchestra. He studied at the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria and at the University of Miami.

American Record Guide, May/June 2014
Stockhausen's Vibra-Elufa (2003) is actually an arrangement of an excerpt from his opera Freitag aus Licht (1996) and plays dramatically with very soft dynamics and silence. Babbitt's Concerto Piccolino is one of the most active works here, operating in what the composer described as an alternation between "solo" and "ripieno". The performances by Lacerda on vibraphone are as good as one could reasonably ask for, making this record desirable for percussionists or enthusiasts of this kind of thing.
