Notes & Reviews:

On this recording there is Early Baroque Advent and Christmas Music of Eccard Praetorius, Schein, Hammerschmidt, Rosenmuller et al. The Baroque orchestra Les Favorites plays on early baroque instruments.

American Record Guide, November/December 2014
Vocal concertos dominate this brilliant program of German baroque Christmas music. An orchestration of strings, zink (cornetto), and trombones adds to their gravity and virtuosic flair. Bernius, Erb, and Kobow exhibit remarkable refinement in their singing - shaping the music through dynamic range and ornamentation. Two sacred concertos are recorded here for the first time: 'Also hat Gott die Welt Geliebet' by Johann Rosenmnller and Christoph Bernhard's 'O Anima Mea'. Texts and notes are in English.
