Performers Ensembles Composer

Notes & Reviews:

This is the first recording of eight vocal and instrumental works by the distinguished Mexican-born composer Max Lifchitz, and is the debut album of the superb Ars Nostra Ensemble based in Tampa, Fla. The works recorded attest to the composer's wide-ranging stylistic explorations.

American Record Guide, January/February 2014
Maz Lifchitz's record is a collection of shorter works from as early as 1982 and as late as 2012. Orchestrational ability is certainly one of Lifchitz's strengths, as well as a more general compositional versatility that allows him to write with varying styles and degrees of dissonance, complexity, and even seriousness.
