Notes & Reviews:

This release is Seta Karakashian's second CD for Roméo Records. The first volume contained works by Grieg, Bartok, Liszt, Babadjanian and Grant Still. Ms. Karakashian follows with additional works by William Grant Still, as well as a splendid traversal of Richard Strauss' Piano Sonata, Op. 5 and scintillating performances of pieces by Georges Bizet and Spendiarian.

American Record Guide, March/April 2014
In the Finale both pianists are moving and exhilarating. Alexandr Spendiarian's (1871-1928) 'Caucasian Sketches' is drawn from his larger suite Etudes of Erevan. It consists of two dances based on the folklore of the Crimea and is woven from the same cloth as Ippolitov- Ivanov's famous work. The music is exotic, colorful, and immensely entertaining. It is also - the gem of this recording. Sound is decent.
