Conductor Ensemble Composers

Notes & Reviews:

Rare Viennese gems of waltz and dance from famed conductor and violinist Willi Boskovsky. An exceptional reissue of a lively program which features works by Johann Strauss I & II and Josef Lanner in addition to several other pieces. Boskovsky would direct his ensembles from the violin, a form of conducting popularized by Strauss Sr.

Penguin Guide
A captivating release of the most delightful musical confectionery imaginable. The ensemble is a small chamber group similar to that led by the Strausses and the playing has an appropriately intimate Viennese atmosphere. 'WB' shows a strong personality as leader and soloist and colorful writing bubbles with good spirits and attractive melodies... An entirely rare repertoire, not to be missed.
