Notes & Reviews:

Modern Devotion ("Devotio Moderna"), a spiritual reform movement founded by Geert Groote within the medieval Catholic Church, arose at the end of the 14th century. These were turbulent times; the plague raged throughout Western Europe, and wars were commonplace. Members of the Modern Devotion found enlightenment and solace in their dedication to Christ. This CD is part of the project Gregorian Chant and Modern Devotion in the Low Countries, from the Key2Singing Foundation in cooperation with the Trigon vocal ensemble for medieval spiritual music led by Margot Kalse.
