Notes & Reviews:

  • The Brodsky Quartet explores an American approach to the string quartet in their latest release on Chandos Records.
  • An arrangement by the Brodsky Quartet of Copland's 'Hoe-Down' from Rodeo is also featured in its première recording.
  • In their 40 years, the internationally renowned Brodsky Quartet have performed over 2,000 concerts and released more than 50 recordings.

Gramophone Magazine, March 2014
The most persuasive playing comes in the shorter items. Gershwin's sultry Lullaby is nicely contrasted with the spicy seasoning and rhythmic zest of Copland's Two Pieces and the 'Hoe-Down' from Rodeo.

Notes & Reviews:

Recording information: Potton Hall, Dunwich, Suffolk (03/06/2013-03/08/2013).
