Notes & Reviews:

American Record Guide, November/December 2014
Most of the 21 selections here are short individual pieces, even the four excerpts from A Boy Was Born and the four movements of Christ's Nativity are quite short. The individual pieces are a mixed bag of the familiar and lesser- known. There is so much to love in this music with its graceful melodies, impeccable musicality, and good performances. The Bethesda, Maryland-based Cantante are a mixture of mature female and male voices. Theirs is a fine strength and a superb grandeur. Eric Plutz's piano and organ accompaniments and solos are hearty.

Celebrating the centennial of Britten's birth, this recording offers works that span his lifetime.
