The music of Paul Graener (1872-1944) is heavily indebted to late Romantic traditions. The music is idyllically conservative: essentially nineteenth century romantic but with lightened transparent textures...Also common to these scores is a grace - something close to kindliness...All in all Graener's music is not easily dismissed.
