American Record Guide, May/June 2014
The writing is highly decorated. Fritz is a true original with a striking harmonic imagination, and these musicians navigate the many intricate nooks and crannies of his music superbly. Plamena Nikitassova was born in Bulgaria and studied in Geneva. She is the concertmistress of the Orchestra of the JS Bach Foundation in St Gallen. She plays a Klotz violin made in the first half of the 18th Century. Amrein, who comes from Zug and studied in Bern, plays a late 18th Century cello; and Botticher, who comes from Bern, studied in Basel.
