Notes & Reviews:

Champs Hill Records continues its survey of the neglected music of Ludwig Thuille. Ludwig Thuille lived and created in fin de siecle Munich and was one of the leading forces in pre World-War I Germany. The Allegri Quartet are Britain's oldest chamber group, as they celebrate their 60th anniversary. 'The current line-up plays with elegance and cleanness of detail. - Independent on Sunday

American Record Guide, July/August 2014
Allegri's renditions are exemplary. They take these works seriously and play with excitement and attention to detail. It's a noble venture. Ofer Falk, the first violinist, relates in the booklet the story of how, by chance, he became a Thuille enthusiast. Certainly the results are worth hearing. Also, the release contains analyses by the always-illuminating Malcolm MacDonald.
