Notes & Reviews:

A recital of 20th century French organ music devoted to some of the instrument's finest modern composers and practictioners. This disc is the 21-year old organist Petur Sakari's BIS debut. The famed 85-stop St-Etienne-du-Mont organ, though extensively rebuilt several times, dates its origins to the 1660's. Hybrid 4.0 Surround Sound Super Audio CD.

American Record Guide, July/August 2014
Sakari is certainly one of the rising stars in the organ world. He began to study the instrument at the age of 8 and gave his first recital in 2005. He has been acclaimed "Young Organist of the Year" at several organ festivals. His special interest in French repertory has led him to study in Paris with Vincent Warnier and Thierry Escaich. His playing here has a technical virtuosity and youthful panache that carries all before it. There are simply no barriers to his technique. The organ is very impressively recorded.

Gramophone Magazine, May 2014
What gives distinction to this disc of 20th century French organ music by the usual suspects is the recording location - the church of St-Etienne-du-Mont in Paris where, from 1930 until his death in 1986, Maurice Duruflé held sway.
