Notes & Reviews:

Philippe Gaubert was a great flute master. But it is often forgotten that he began with the violin. He truly was a violinist, as the Concerto, previously released, attests, as well as the Sonata and Quatre Esquisses ? two world premieres ?, which exploit the instrument's lyricism and delicacy of colors. The cello is also present here in highly virtuosic pieces. - Finally, another premiere: the Trois Aquarelles, in the original instrumentation for violin, cello and piano, so this will be a discovery.
