Notes & Reviews:

Anderson & Roe's second release on the Steinway label, 'An Amadeus Affair', celebrates the music of Mozart. A brilliant recording of Mozart's Sonata for Two Pianos is surrounded by scintillating four-hand arrangements of music from his operas and concertos. Anderson & Roe have toured extensively as recitalists and orchestral soloists across North America, Asia and Europe and have appeared on several NPR programs.

American Record Guide, May/June 2014
Anderson & Roe, in their 10-year high-profile partnership, have garnered rave reviews and amassed a huge internet following. Their classical music videos have caught my eye and their incredible performances my ear. Busoni's Duettino Concertante opens the program and is an inspired transcription of the Finale from Mozart's Piano Concerto 19. Anderson & Roe are the transcribers of the beautiful trio from Cosi Fan Tutte and the Song of the Two Armed Men from The Magic Flute. It is interesting to note that Liszt made a piano duet transcription of this piece. Of his vast output of opera-based transcriptions, arrangements and compositions, Reminiscences de Don Juan is generally regarded as the best. It has become, along with the Concerto Pathetique, the most often recorded of his two-piano works. It requires a pair of pianists capable of handling exceptionally difficult piano writing in perfect ensemble with each other. A Grand Scherzo is based on four sections taken from the Finale to Act I of Cosi Fan Tutte. This 10-minute work is true to the spirit of the original and quite inventive. They do have it all, and any classical music lover owes it to himself to hear Anderson & Roe.
