Notes & Reviews:

C.P.E. Bach's St Matthew Passion premiered in 1781, then forgotten and/or lost for 200 years until its 1999 rediscovery in Kiev, and finally performed again by the Windsbacher Knabenchor in 2003. This first ever recording captures this performance. In his Passion setting, C.P.E. Bach brought together the works of numerous 17th masters, including J.S. Bach, Georg Benda, and G. A. Homilius. A must-have for the Bach connoisseur, and a great pleasure for any connoisseur of classical music!
