Notes & Reviews:

This special release in Praga's SACD-remastered Reminiscences series recreates a legendary Bartók concert given by Ferenc Fricsay at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées on May 25, 1952. This event offered premières of four works that show the breadth, color and diversity of Bartók's music. It includes the Two Portraits, the Dance Suite and the Divertimento, paired with the great pianist Geza Anda's first performance of the Piano Concerto No.2. This homage to Fricsay is released in celebration of his centenary.
