Notes & Reviews:

J. M. F. Nisle's (1780-1873) oeuvre seems to have been forgotten already toward the end of his long life and has unfortunately been neglected right through to the present day. Wrongly so. The compositions recorded here present an original exponent of early romanticism with a pronounced melodic talent. In all likelihood, the chamber works featured on this CD were composed between 1806 and 1809 in Vienna or Hungary.
