Notes & Reviews:
Distinctly French, yet also cosmopolitan, Darius Milhaud (1892-1974) was adventurous, prominent and prolific. He was a member of Les Six and taught in France and America; among his many students were Dave Brubeck and Burt Bacharach. This 10CD set offers a taste of his vast and diverse output. A peerless array of artists, including Bernstein, Rostropovich and indeed Milhaud himself, are heard herein.
