Notes & Reviews:

Pianist Jan Michiels' project is a musical journey with Venice as the principal port of call, its architectural density serving as metaphor for going deep into the plurality of history (of music). Our traveling companion is Prometheus, a character who never stopped seeking, finding, going beyond and transgressing. The piano version of Ludwig van Beethoven's ballet The Creatures of Prometheus forms the heart of this ambitious project that leads us to Bach, Wagner, Liszt, Nono and Holliger.
