Notes & Reviews:

The Munich Piano Trio, together with Tilo Widenmeyer and Alexander Rilling) have an exciting contrast to offer: the piano quintets of Franz Schubert - the famous 'Trout' - and Ralph Vaughan Williams. They allow us to sense that both composers were gifted art song creators. The early work of the English folksong collector is a genuinely astonishing discovery: late romanticism on a Brahmsian scale and with an aplomb that almost reminds one of Richard Strauss!

Notes & Reviews:

Personnel: Krahmer-Pöllmann (double bass).

Recording information: Cuvilliés-Theatre in Munich, Germany (07/10/2013).
