Notes & Reviews:

This release features a program of Habsburg violin music whose composers are unknown. The works are drawn from a manuscript held at the Minorite oratory, Vienna. - The Austrian director and violinist Gunar Letzbor was a regular member of Musica Antiqua Köln and the Clemencic Consort, among others. In 1995, Mr. Letzbor founded the ensemble Ars Antiqua Austria, heard accompanying Mr. Letzbor on this disc.

American Record Guide, November/December 2014
Letzbor and his colleagues are top-drawer musicians, and their realizations of these works are consistently tasteful and imaginative. Ars Antiqua Austria is Erich Traxler, harpsichord and organ; Hubert Hoffman, lute; and Jan Krigovsky, violone. I must take Letzbor to task for his booklet notes. Fine and interesting as they are.
