Notes & Reviews:

In 1962 a young Claudio Abbado and violinist Franco Gulli (1926-2001) recorded an album dedicated to Giuseppe Tartini. The resulting album is still considered a benchmark in the Tartini discography. - Franco Gulli's discography is both lengthy and extensive; it includes the 1959 premier recording of the then newly-discovered Paganini Fifth Concerto. - Two moviments of the Sonata " Il Trillo del Diavolo" recorded by Gulli in 1960 with his wife, Erica Cavallo, at the piano, round out this disc.
