Notes & Reviews:

Violinist David Oistrakh's studio work of his last years is particularly interesting, and his chamber programs were viewed as true revelations. Oistrakh renders the songful and sunny world of Schubert's duet and fantasia, and restrained emotions and hidden drama of Brahms's first sonata with an inimitable, unique intonation and nobility of tone. During those years, Frida Bauer, a remarkable pianist, was the violinist's ensemble partner. The recordings were made in 1970 - 74.

BBC Music Magazine, November 2014
Oistrakh's mastery, at once lustrous and poised, is matched by his superlative accompanist: the Fantasie becomes an inspired dialogue. Decent sound.
