Notes & Reviews:

The Karajan Edition comprises thirteen boxed sets containing official remasterings of his finest EMI recordings made between 1946-1984. This 8CD box presents works for solo instruments and orchestra - including concertos by Beethoven, Schumann and Brahms, among others - played by Dinu Lipatti, Walter Gieseking, Dennis Brain, and more. The Warner releases of these Karajan Edition sets during the first half of 2014 marks the 25thanniversary of his death in 1989.

American Record Guide, January/February 2015
Finally, the Brahms with Richter-Haaser is one of the great performances of the piece, comparable to Gilels with Jochum, Arrau with Haitink, and Richter with Leinsdorf. The sound is especially good (it's stereo) and there are many treasurable moments: the serenity and poise of the opening theme of the first movement, the spots where time seems to stand still in the slow movement, the wildness of parts of the scherzo, and lightness of mood of much of the finale. It's a ripe and mellow performance. I wish they had done more work together. The sound is very good mono.
