Notes & Reviews:

"This is a very satisfying disc, made all the more welcome by the artistic recording." -Classic CD Magazine. Winner! Chamber/Solo Instrumental 19th Century, Cannes Classical Awards 1999

Penguin Guide
The Quatuor Ludwig play it with conviction and aplomb. The recording is excellent, and this is also highly recommendable if you want the coupling.

Penguin Guide Key Recording
Michadl Levinas and the Quatuor Ludwig give a very impressive account of 'the king of piano quintets' (the phrase is Tournemire's). This is a very competitive account which is well worth its modest asking price. Levinas is a sensitive player, and those who are attracted by the enterprising Chausson coupling should consider the present disc. Both the playing and the recorded sound are of a high standard.

Gramophone
"nothing about it suggests the bargain basement"
