Notes & Reviews:

This double album brings together two recordings that broke new ground in the Beethoven discography. Disc one focuses on the transition from the violin sonata's transition from the Baroque to the Classical, and disc two explores the development of piano trio as it evolves from the Classical into the Romantic. These performances also document the sound of three outstanding period instruments (including Beethoven's own violin!) in superb performances by violinist Daniel Sepec, cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras and pianist Andreas Staier.

BBC Music Magazine, August 2014
Underpinned by the musicianship of Andreas Staier, these recordings are real classics. Sepec is using Beethoven's own violin.

International Record Review, September 2014
Delightful ... played magnificently.
