Notes & Reviews:

These three works offer a genuine journey, full of con-trasts, in which the listener can easily find wonder, surprise, and kaleidoscopic shifts from one emotion to another. I like it when you don't ever settle into a com-fort zone. I'm looking for emotions - that's what guides me. These pieces aren't for children, but assume the character of innocence and candour that one finds in childhood. I'd even go so far as to say that they adopt the tone of late adolescence and early adulthood. - Lise de la Salle Alongside the powerful concertos by Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Prokofiev or Chopin she plays all over the world, Lise de la Salle has a special link with Robert Schumann's early piano pieces. She chose the Abegg Variations op.1, Kinderszenen op.15 and the Fantasie in C major op.17 for her first recording dedicated to the German romantic master. A repertoire in which she has a lot to say and reveal.

BBC Music Magazine, November 2014
Immaculate in their textual clarity, virtuosic and elegant in tone, these are highly accomplished, keenly considered performances by an artist of conspicuous refinement.

Gramophone Magazine, Awards Issue 2014
Her selection is sufficiently individual to make comparison a marginal issue, and so too is her playing, which once more displays a distinctive personal eloquence...For Clara Schumann the Fantasie was beyond wonder. Such unbridled joy is reflected in de la Salle's bold and impassioned response.

International Record Review, October 2014
The ebb and flow of phrases in Variation 2 ... is 'delicious', as the French would say ... surely, this is one of the best recordings of this work ... [de la Salle] certainly has the fingers and the arms for almost any task she might undertake, and I look forward very much to following her career.

Sunday Times, 13th July 2014
The intimacy she brings to the smaller pieces - a rapt TrSumerei, best known of the Op 15 collection - makes way for her majestic account of Op 17, the composer's grandest masterpiece for his own instrument.

American Record Guide, November/December 2014
Abegg Variations is tasteful, deployed with considerable facility. She plays with great flair and musicality. In the Fantasy she shows sensitivity to every harmonic change, capturing great depth of feeling with amazing clarity.
