Notes & Reviews:
The Seventh Symphony is one of Shostakovich's finest and most impressive works. Conductor Valeri Polyansky has made an excellent series of recordings of Russian repertoire on Chandos. His Schnittke series, Grechaninov symphonies and a disc of rare Mussorgsky works are particularly admired.
