Notes & Reviews:

American Record Guide, November/December 2014
The performance by Trio Enesco is blended and tonally seamless between the two string instruments and to some extent with the piano. The ambiance is at the same time bright and rich, and the performance glows with real magic. The reading of I catches its liquidity better than any I know. In II they sustain the seemingly endless line, and the string instruments are blended incredibly well. The pianist's sense of balance and color here and elsewhere is impeccable. III bubbles with just enough energy and pace. FaurTseems to bring out the best in piano trios. This could be the best of them all. Genuin's sound is excellent.

How many treasures still remain to be discovered from the epoch of the fin de siècle and the interwar period? Even with composers whom one thinks one knows, one can still embark on an astonishing journey of discovery: for example, with the Romanian national composer George Enescu and with Gabriel Fauré, whose works for piano trio have now been tackled by the young Enescu Trio, winners of international prizes, in a first production for their GENUIN debut CD. The ability of the three musicians to blend together in sound borders on the unreal; they become a large, single instrument, painting dreamlike and transcendent colors as contained in this music of an apparently timeless period.

Record Review
...the [Ensecu] as a whole...unfolds as an ongoing (if not continuous) entitiy. Something that the Trio Enescu appreciates in what is an audibly cohesive reading...A committed account, then, from a highly gifted ensemble which can assuredly hold its own with those now available.
