Evans' compositions have been premiered in Paris, Delaware, and Washington DC, and have been recorded by groups such as the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Millennium Symphony, and members of the Kiev Philharmonic. Kathodik hails, "Michael J. Evans is a composer who writes following instinct first. His music is an emotional flow uninterrupted, strongly characterized in melodic and rhythmic sense." Internationally-recognized, Boston-based pianist Karolina Rojahn is the featured soloist on the album.
