Notes & Reviews:

Emerging only recently from relative obscurity, the 18th c. Italian Carlo Tessarini's violin sonatas are firmly rooted in the baroque tradition, yet already pointing towards the late 1700s 'galante style' with its emphasis on bel canto melodies and clear, transparent structures. Consisting almost entirely of world premiere recordings, this album of sonatas is played by esteemed violinist and viola d'amore player Valerio Losito with basso continuo accompaniment from harpsichordist Federico del Sordo.

American Record Guide, January/February 2015
All I can say is that his music is fresh and exuberant. I sense a certain inspiration from Corelli, which is a good thing - and Besutti mentions this. Valerio Losito and Federico del Sordo obviously relish it. They add a lot to the music's appeal. If they are Losito's, then he has a far better understanding and mastery of baroque ornamentation than any other violinist that I know. Losito plays a violin made by Pier Lorenzo Vangelisti in Florence in 1741 with baroquestyle bows by Ralph Ashmead; and Sordo plays a copy of a harpsichord by Christian Zell made by Barthelemy Formentelli in 1998.
