BBC Music Magazine, December 2014
Technically, this is playing of the highest order. Florian Uhlig has fingers to die for, and one of the advantages of this is that he has the confidence to use the sustaining pedal only when it's really called for. Time and again, I was stunned by the clarity and brilliance of passages that too often pass in a hopeful mush.

Florian Uhlig's recent recording of French Piano Concertos created a sensation. Though originally conceived as a respite from his ongoing project to record the first, truly complete edition of the piano works of Robert Schumann, Mr. Uhlig's excursion into late 19th and 20th century French repertoire demonstrated his knack for the brilliant, urbane sound-world of the great French composers. He continues his explorations in this new recording of the piano works of Maurice Ravel.

American Record Guide, March/April 2015
I like Uhlig's playing. A German-born resident of London, where he got most of his training, he has all of the technique to play some of the most demanding repertoire of the 20th Century. He is also a master colorist - another requirement for this music, much of which was also orchestrated. His digital articulation keeps the lines and rhythms clear. The works here are mostly familiar to people who love great piano music: Jeux d'eau, Sonatine, Miroirs, Le Tombeau de Couperin, Gaspard de la Nuit, Valses Nobles et Sentimentales. All of the little works are here as well. The new works are substantial. La Parade is 11 minutes of decidedly poplar music to which Ravel signed a pseudonym, "Jacques Dream". The Daphnis et ChloT segments are nearly 20 minutes of music that pretty much follow the orchestral Suite 1 Ravel made from the ballet. And another scene is added on that sounds very much like music from Suite 2.
