Notes & Reviews:

This SACD remastering in Praga’s Reminiscences series features the great violinist David Oistrakh in two concertos by Beethoven. This recording of the Violin Concerto, backed by André Cluytens, is considered by many critics to be his finest. Oistrakh is joined by his usual trio partners Lev Oborin and Sviatoslav Knuschevitzky in a fiery reading of the Triple Concerto, accompanied by the Philharmonia Orchestra led by Sir Malcolm Sargent.
