Notes & Reviews:

The early music ensemble, Il Desiderio, was founded in 1998. For this recording they collaborate with Swiss soprano Regula Konrad, who is on the voice faculty at Basel University of Music.

American Record Guide, March/April 2015
Five instrumental pieces of the same period complement this fine program of early Italian vocal music in honor of the Virgin Mary. Led by the subtle, sweet, and nuanced playing of the ensemble's founder, cornettist Hans-Jakob Bollinger, Il Desiderio is an ideal match for both soprano Regula Konrad and this repertoire. Tempos are very well judged with a natural flow that evokes an appropriate spirit of Marian praise: humble, yet - as exemplified by the inclusion of Salamone Rossi's playful Bergamasca sonata and Falconiero's jolly Ciaconna - joy-filled too.
