Notes & Reviews:

Sunday Times, 16th November 2014
They perhaps lack the finished suavity of Corelli's published work, but their elegance and studied brevity - each sonata consists of three short movements - ring true.

The rich, beautiful violin tone and unhurried, thoughtful tempi of Enrico Gatti has often been heard in the music of Arcangelo Corelli. For Glossa he has now recorded the 12 "Assisi" Sonatas for violin, which it is believed that Corelli wrote prior to committing his Trio Sonatas, op. 1 for publication in 1681. Four additional sonatas from manuscript sources can be as well attributed to Corelli and are also included here. Joining Mr. Gatti for this Ensemble Aurora recording are cellist Gaetano Nasillo and harpsichordist Anna Fontana. World première recordings!
