Notes & Reviews:

Pianist Catherine Ms. Kautsky, Professor of Music and Chair of Keyboard Studies at Lawrence University and specialist in this literature, realized this recording of both books of Claude Debussy's Preludes for Centaur in 2007. Written and published in the early 1910s, not too many years before his death in 1918, the Preludes, a collection of 24 distinctive and experimental pieces, rank among Debussy's greatest works. Ms. Kautsky has concertized throughout the United States and abroad as a recitalist, soloist with orchestra, and chamber musician.
