Notes & Reviews:

C.P.E. Bach, particularly renowned for his unrivalled piano sonatas in the sensitive style ('empfindsamer Stil'), contributed to almost every important form of classical music. Recognizing the symphony as a medium of great expressive potential, he came to write an impressive nineteen total, of which two splendid examples are presented here. The Magnificat provides a more clearly baroque, and of course vocal, counterweight to the symphonies, moving through dramatically contrasting emotions. The Kammerorchester 'CPE Bach' is, led by Hartmut Haenchen.

BBC Music Magazine, June 2015
Two attractively energetic symphonies, played with nonchalant ease. The Magnificat has a dazzling start, though there's weighty choral sonority elsewhere.
