Notes & Reviews:

Camille Saint-Saëns, described as 'the greatest musical mind' of the era by his contemporary Hans von Bülow, contributed substantively to nearly every musical genre and to the general French musical renaissance of his time. This collection brings together all of Saint-Saëns' piano concertos, providing a chronological tour through much of his career: the period of composition spans from 1858-96. The critically acclaimed pianist Gabriel Tacchino and the Orchestra of Radio Luxembourg, directed by Louis de Froment perform.

BBC Music Magazine, Christmas 2014
Tacchino, a leading interpreter of late-Romantic French music, makes an unanswerable case for these underrated works to be taken more seriously, especially the First.

American Record Guide, January/February 2015
Vox issued the complete Tacchino set on LP and then on three CDs (Sept/Oct 1994). This is just the first two discs, minus almost all the extras that made his set so attractive. The concertos themselves are straightforward and invigorating.
