Notes & Reviews:

Under The Stars, Charlie Siem's first recording for Sony Classical, features the young violinist performing thirteen works, mostly encore pieces for violin and orchestra in their original states or as arrangements, and one Siem original, "Canopy", with the Munich Radio Symphony conducted by Paul Goodwin. Charlie's debut CD featuring violin sonatas by Grieg and Elgar (2008) was widely praised, being named "Recital CD of the Month" by Strad magazine and receiving five stars from BBC Music Magazine. Two critically acclaimed albums followed. Charlie has revived the age-old violinist tradition of composing virtuosic variations of popular themes, which he has done with artists including Bryan Adams, Jamie Cullum and The Who's Roger Daltrey and Pete Townsend. Charlie also appears in Karl Lagerfeld's tome "The Little Black Jacket: Chanel's Classic Revisited" and alongside his concert activities Charlie has been adopted by a number of brands such as Dior, Dunhill and Armani as a result of his charismatic performances and natural ease in front of the camera and audience. Charlie Siem is "...one of the most exciting young violin talents around" (Classic FM).

American Record Guide, July/August 2015
Charlie Siem makes a much more beautiful sound than Stern did, and he sounds more relaxed and "laid-back" - almost Central European. He was born in London and seems much too sexy and warm to be English. The key is, do you want to hear this repertory for violin and orchestra? It's beautiful music.
