Founded in 1951, the award-winning Radio Youth Choir Wernigerode has long been a well-regarded performing and recording body, with numerous stage and TV appearances and near thirty record and CD releases. On the 80 min. Gloria in Excelsis Deo: Festive Christmas Music, the choir is heard in company with the Saxony Philharmonic Wind Orchestra, the Ensemble Sonora and noted soprano Ruth Ziesak. Includes works by Handel, Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky, among others.
