The Czech-born pianist and writer August Stradal (1860 - 1930) - a Bruckner student and Liszt disciple - was one of the more prolific transcribers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He produced a vast quantity of phenomenally difficult piano music, including Liszt's orchestral works, most of Bruckner's symphonies, a good deal of the Baroque (a huge amount of Bach) and much more. This is the second in a series presenting his Wagner transcriptions, again featuring pianist Juan Guillermo Vizcarra. "Vizcarra makes a staggeringly powerful case for these transcriptions...
