American Record Guide, January/February 2015
From the delightful bounce and blend between Ms Wildhaber and Scott Pool in the Four Bulgarian Songs to her delicate cantible in the Adagio movements of Baird's Four Preludes and Sluka's sonata, this album is full of exceptional playing. Yet what gives me greater joy than hearing such a good performance like this is noticing how much Ms Wildhaber's artistry has evolved over time. In these four years since her last album, I notice a smoother, subtler and sultrier tone. Her registers are even, and her attention to intonation is impeccable. After mastering the instrument, it becomes an extension of one's voice, and she seems clearly to have found that voice. You will not go wrong to add this fantastic recording to your collection.
