Album Summary

>Nyman, Michael [Piano] : Where the Bee Dances, for saxophone & orchestra
>Nyman, Michael [Piano] : The Piano Concerto, for piano & orchestra
Performers Conductor Ensemble Composer

Notes & Reviews:

Michael Nyman was introduced to a wider audience through his movie scores -indeed the one-movement Piano Concerto recorded here, is derived directly from the most well-known of these, that for the film "The Piano". The coupling, Where the Bee Sucks, is a saxophone concerto whose title refers to a passage in Shakespeare's The Tempest, which Nyman set to music in another movie, Prospero's Books. -H&B
