Notes & Reviews:

On the faculty at the Shenandoah Conservatory, J. Thomas Mitts studied at Louisiana State University and the University of Iowa. He has appeared as recitalist, soloist and accompanist with orchestras and choruses around the United States and abroad.

American Record Guide, November/December 2014
Mitts's performances are thoroughly persuasive. Most musical detail is clearly audible here. I was surprised to find that the fullest registrations on this relatively small organ in a minimally reverberant acoustic have a quality that could be called the CavaillT-Coll jumble. The tone of the organ is so intense, forward, and passionate that even basic harmonic color is submerged in the overwhelming wash of sound.

Notes & Reviews:

Recording information: Augustana Lutheran Church, Washington, D.C. (05/14/2013-05/16/2013).
